Punjab Government’s Big Step for Students
The Punjab government has unveiled a massive education support package to empower youth with scholarships, laptops, and modern learning facilities. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz officially launched the Hunarmand (Merit) Scholarship and Laptop Scheme Phase-II, confirming thousands of opportunities for students nationwide.

80,000 Scholarships and 118,000 Laptops
Under this new initiative, 80,000 scholarships will be distributed next year, while 118,000 Core i7 laptops will be given to deserving students. Merit-based selection will ensure fair access for youth across Punjab as well as Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Equal Opportunities for All Provinces
Maryam Nawaz highlighted that more than 27,000 applications had already been received from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan alone. She reassured students that favoritism or recommendations would not affect the process. The scheme is designed purely on merit to give everyone a fair chance at academic success.

New STEAM Labs and Centers of Excellence
The Punjab government also announced the creation of 6,000 STEAM laboratories, Schools of Eminence, and new Centers of Excellence across the province. These facilities will boost Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics education, ensuring that students are better prepared for future opportunities. Electric buses will also be launched in Chakwal to improve transport services.

Maryam Nawaz Reflects on Her Journey
Speaking at the event, Maryam Nawaz shared her personal struggles, recalling her political journey since 2011, her election in 2024, and the hardships she faced, including imprisonment. She said these challenges only strengthened her resolve to invest in education, empowerment, and the youth of Punjab.
